Here is a quick link to connect you with some guides for getting started with Nearpod. The best way is to get in there and play with it:) But Nearpod does a great job of giving you all the training and tools that you need to get started and to keep going with the app. From the very basics, to differentiated instruction, to saving your report data to excel, Nearpod has a guide to teach you how to do it all.
One thing we have learned at Hazeldale is that you can use Nearpod even if you do not have a class set of devices. You can set up self-paced (homework sessions) that students can use independently during class, but you will need to generate separate codes for each student who will use the device. Nearpod saves the answers so that students can self-pace through a homework session. They can leave and come back to it later. This is great! But annoying if you're trying to use the same device for multiple students because they can see the answers the previous student who used the device entered if you use the same code. To get around this, simply generate separate codes for each student who will use the device. Press the homework button and write down the code. Press it again. A new code will be generated for another student to use. You can generate as many homework sessions as you need to for the group of students that you would like to have work through the NPP (nearpod presentation). Awesome!
