It was 9pm on a Sunday night, yesterday to be exact, when I realized that I no longer have a Promethean Board in my classroom. I made all of the Engage NY lessons into flipcharts last year but none of them will work with the new set up I have. I needed to make a new presentation for my math lesson. So I began the tedious steps: screenshot every picture I will use from the Engage NY lesson, email it to myself...yuck. Too long! And to make matters worse, that's when my laptop decided to die. So I changed tactics. I decided to do this from my iPad. But how do you take a partial screen shot on an iPad?
In the midst of my wondering I had begun to download the Engage NY PDF onto my iPad. Once it was downloaded it gave me the option to "Open in iBooks" or "Open In..." What would happen if I opened in iBooks? I was thinking it through, but I decided instead to "Open in..." It was the best decision I had ever made. When I pressed that button, Explain Everything came up as an option. I pressed it. It pulled the PDF into and explain everything and sorted each page into a slide. In a matter of one minute, I had a completely interactive lesson ready to go for Monday. What a time saver. Each page of the slide could be annotated.
You can use Explain Everything in a million different ways. Want to flip your classroom? Explain Everything can help. Want to animate a lesson? Yep! Use Explain Everything. You can pull in any PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation as well. Watch this video to learn about how Explain Everything can help you.
